-a little reminder to myself-
No, I do not think at all that I am wise whatsover after having been on this earth for such a small period of time. But what I can definitly say that especially the last few years I've had to realize lots of things however some of them I couldn't internalize until now. Hopefully one day I will be able to proudly say that I am 100 % content and satisfied with what my life has taught me and I will look back to this list realizing that' this has been the way I have been living my life.

18.1

1. Always be true to yourself. Don't try to be someone else to fit into a certain group. Real friends will accept you for your true self and everything that comes with it. Pretending to be someone else will satisfy neither others nor yourself.

2. Don't waste your energy & time on people who don't deserve it.  Stop talking to people who won't listen to you anyways, stop caring about people who by the end of the day will have forgotten about you but keep your energy for those who actually need it, who actually need you, appreciate you and will evetually give you something in return.

3. We grow with our challenges. Certain tasks that seem to be impossible to accomplish to you right now will be totally allright if its your time to manage them. When you have to directly face them you will be ready with the only thing holding you back being your fears.

4. Nothing lasts forever, everything is temporary. Neither the worst moments you are experiencing in life but also not your best moments will be eternal. So enjoy every moment of happiness and be aware that bad times will pass- life is full of ups and down.

5.  Stop caring about what others might think about you.  People are too busy with their own lives to be judging you 24/7 and the only opinion that should matter to you is your own, at the end of the day you are the only person you will be with your entire life therefore make sure you like yourself first before other people do.

18.3

6. Be kind to yourself.  Would you speak the way you do about yourself to a family member or your best friend? No?-then why would you speak like that to yourself? It doesn't make any sense. It is only logical to treat yourself the way you would treat the most precious people in your life because you spend the most time with yourself.

7. You don't need to prove anything to anyone. Don't always strive for the approval of your parents, friends, teachers or even strangers. It's your life and you can do whatever you want with it as long as you are not harming anyone with your actions. Set yourself free from boundaries your environment or society has created and live your life the way you want to.

8. Don't let your fears hold you back. I believe that one of  our biggest enemies is fear. The fear to fail, to disappoint or simply just being afraid of what something is going to be like. Fear is constantly blocking us, preventing us from doing things we actually would love to attempt. To an extent fear can protect us but other than that we need to let go of it. It's one of the hardest things to do-for me at least but without trying it I am probably going to miss out on much more than I've already have because of it.

9. Don't be ashamed of yourself.  Don't let other people belittle you or bring you down for what you are- stand up for yourself and your beliefs and show them that you know your worth.

10. Everything happens for a reason. Things that might seem unexplainable to you in one moment will eventually make perfect sense in your life. Mistakes are there to learn from and so are tricky situations. Appreciate them as part of the process that makes you who you are throughout your life.

11. Relax and don't take life too seriously all the time. The problems that may seem enourmous to you right now won't matter to you a year from now. With the time they will get smaller and smaller until they disappear.

18.2

12. Step out of your comfort zone. In order to grow you need to allow yourself to do so which only is possible if you experience new things you aren't used to. Adapting to something unknown and uncomfortable will challenge you at first but once you pass that stage until its not a challenge to you anymore your comfort zone will expand eventually.

13.  Don't compare yourself to others. There is no point in doing so. Everyone is unique and so are you. You could have been zillions of other people but you came to this world exactly the way you are which really is a wonder. Appreciate it and accept there are certain thing about yourself that you won't be ablle to change but will make you distinctive between millions of other people.

14. Always put things into perspective. You're just a tiny piece in the endless puzzle of humanity. Compared to the universe your problems are minuscule. If you start viewing your situation from a different perspective things will seem half as bad as you imagened them to be before.

15. There is absolutley nothing you can do against yourself being born priviledged. Dont feel bad for being part of the world's population who has limitless access to water, food and shelter. It is not your fault that you were born into this unequal world. Its normal to be sad or very angry about this but try to turn this sadness and anger into something good to actually make a difference in this world.

16. We accept the love we think we deserve.- one of my all-time favorite tumblr quotes. It's so accurate and such a good explaination for so many things. I am still in the process of really internalizing this but I guess once you achieve the state of unconditionally loving yourself it has to be amazing.

17. Life is unpredictable. Also having a hard time with this one... you need to accept that not everything or rather most of the things will turn out exactly the way you want them to. Regardless of the Law of Attraction there are certain things we have no influence on. Sometimes life becomes a lot more enjoyable if you just go with the flow and don't try to plan everything into the last detail.

18. You can't be perfect. Perfection is fiction. It does only exist in your head and your defintion of perfection is everchanging. You can't become something that does only exist in peoples' edited lives online and is defined differently for everyone. Aiming to be flawless will turn into a path with no ending to it and will eventually lead you to despair. Try to be the best version of yourself- that's the only thing truly achieveable.
